Our first weekend at the lodge is over! It was a flying ‘setup’ two days which saw a full car go down to Cornwall and an empty one returning.
In planning we drew up lists along the lines of ‘must have now’, ‘must have later’ and ‘can wait’ and this went well. IKEA and Dunelm covered most items prior to travelling down and we topped up in Conwall with an inevitable trip to Trago Mills.
By the end of the weekend the lodge was fully habitable and all appliances tested (although some vexation with the washing machine due to a silly install mistake).
Over the weekend we met a couple of the residents, all singing the praises of both the quiet location and the site staff.
Saturday’s evening meal was courtesy of the chippy in Camelford – jolly good it was too.
We had time to sit in the sun on the deck and enjoy the sounds of the countryside but patio furniture is the next purchase on the list as dragging armchairs outside isn’t a long term solution!
