Port Isaac

If ever a place in Cornwall reflected a change from industry to leisure, this is it. Its quaint small cottages crammed together are highly desirable today but were very poor homes when they were built.

Make sure to arrive early in the morning or in the evening as car parks fill quickly (best bet to use the first car park and trek downhill on foot).

In all the times we have visited over the years, it was in April 2019 we first stumbled on the filming of ‘Doc Martin’. The village has a sizable ‘location’ tourist visitation these days. It was a surprise to see the huge crew took great pains to minimise visitor disruption.

The famous Fisherman’s Friends bouy band still perform for charity on the Platt regularly, weather permitting – check their web page for up to date information.
